HOW THE FIGHT STARTED
I rear-ended a car this morning. So there we are alongside the road And slowly the driver gets out of the car. . . and you know how you just-get-sooo-stressed and life-stuff seems to get funny?
Yeah, well, I could NOT believe it . He was a DWARF!
He storms over to my car, looks up at me and says, 'I AM NOT HAPPY!' So, I look down at him and say, 'Well, then which one are you?'
. . . and that's when the fight started . . |

Dealing with a bit of stuff at the moment - DH's Grandmother fell a second time and this time did much more damage than just a bone chip in her knee - this time she broke her hip. Just this year she has shown the very obvious signs of the ostioperosis that she has, and I'm certain it has played a great part in what has been happening with her. She had surgery for her hip, and will be recovering for a week or more, so I understand. I know that not being able to be mobile will frustrate her more than any actual injury. She is a "go-er" someone who is always going, going, going. She is in her 80's and never sits still - it's never been in her nature to do so. I'm praying that she will be able to heal fairly quickly, and be able to get around again. No, I don't expect it to be exactly the same, but I surely hate to see her spirits set back if she can't get around at all. - She is "very feisty" as her doctor put it, and I think she'll do fine. Her family is also helping out, but it has been -interesting- for them to say the least, being that her, being "very fiesty", is something they would probably all say, is an understatement. On other fronts, I find I have to be so careful how I word things - I try to express how I feel or what my opinions are, but I do get very passionate and end up often times coming across differently than I intend to. A more recent example would be in dealing with a situation that arose at our child's school. - It was dealt with in a way in which I think I'm satisfied, but in some way, I know it would have been dealt with in an entirely different manner if it had taken place years ago. I guess I'm old fashioned in some sences, and I myself would have handled things a bit differently. - That said, I do think that it was handled in the best way they were able to. - and I'm glad I didn't express myself immediately, and end up with my foot in my mouth, so to speak. :/
- I guess that's it for today - I hope everyone out there in shoutpostland is doing well in their own little coerner of the world. MMQC :) . |

| 2008-04-28 |
Well I haven't posted on here in what seems like forever - well not consistently like I used to do anyway. - when there were problems here and it was hard to even get on this site, I kind of abandoned things here for a while. I would check in from time-to-time, but not alot of posting. I have more recently posted about family staying with us from out of town - they have all gone back home justl ast week. I miss them, but it is also nice to get back to some semblence of "normal". That all said - I'm not sure what to write about really - things are going alright - migraines - my volunteer work - ect. ...I am busy this year - a wedding - a graduation - parties that have to do with both - with all of that going on, I'm sure I'll come up with something.......eventually. Seems things happen all at once - and just when you think you've got things handled - you don't - - Two Birthday's in my family, five in DH's and there are some realatives coming in from out of town - one is staying with us. - and the farm opens tomorrow for it's 2008 season, and The E.F. Weekend will be the second weekend in April this year - and DH's Grandmother just fell last week and can not get around - DH and SIL#1 and FIL are over there fixing a tub and shower oh her first floor, that had to totally be ripped out, and a new shower stall, with a seat, fitted into the space - but not before having to rip out the old floor and put in a new one that is level. Meanwhile this house has to be cleaned up - stuff packed away - to get ready for our guests and a party. Tooooo much to do all at once if you ask me! WHEW!

| ...and again..... |
| 2008-01-20 |
Well - as they say - "it comes in threes" - yes, I have another funeral to go to. The third one this month of January. This time it is is the dear mother of my old youth group leader I will go this evening to the viewing, and possibly tomorrow to the service. I want to be there for them, as they have also been there for me, and the family are very dear friends. Seems like the older you get, the more people you know, die.

well - I have another funeral to go to today - and it's still only January......yeah.....not looking forward to going, and would rather not go at all - but I know I should go, and I should also be there for another family member (a member of their family, is who has passed away). Maybe I'll just stay for the service itself that is being held at the church, and skip the graveside part and the reception afterwards - I went to the afternoon "viewing" yesterday, and there's only so much I can handle. So, I guess I'll finish getting ready, and go. two funerals, and this year has just begun...not sure I'm looking forward to this coming year or not....anybody's guess, what's in store. :/

| one in a million |
| 2008-01-06 |
Just got a letter today from a friend - I am now one in a million of others who can say that they know someone personally, who is over in Iraq. It feels so surreal actually - I'm sure others have felt this way too - and I can only imagine the feelings of those who are actually there. Scary? - yes, definitely. Maybe unnerving is an even better word. My prayers and thoughts are with this friend - they will be there for fifteen months. |

well, I've made it through the day - but not totally unscathed... didn't go to the funeral service and I feel really bad about it - I wanted to be there for my friend - feeling sick and lost my voice, and so tired I couldn't keep my eyes open, plus my kiddo was sick too, so I guess thats reason to stay home - still a really rough day Did have one friend who reached out to say hi and hoped I feel better - that's the kind of friend you keep :) Thanks friend ;) |

| *sigh* - first day... |
| 2008-01-02 |
Well, first day back to school for my kiddo - and hubby has gone back to work today too - House feels so empty, esp. after having them both home for so long over the Christmas and New Years holidays. full house - now an empty house. There's lots for me to do, but I don't feel like doing it. I miss the hustle and bustle - too quiet here. ... Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things by the end of the week. - Have a party to attend too, this weekend. Older kiddo and their fiance' have just graduated from college - a party for both together is planned - kinda a precusour to their wedding in the fall. - Computer had a glitch the other day and had to re-install - not sure if the phone/call-waiting feature is still up and running or not - have to check that. - guess I shouldn't stay on too long in the meantime just in case. well - so - back to the grind I guess - (yay) - blah! - could have used one more day off to recoupe...

| 2008-01-01 |
Well, Here I am..It's been a long time since I really kept up with this blog...guess that happens... tomorrow school starts up again after the holidays...kinda anxious about tomorrow..I'll miss my kiddo.. ...guess that's kinda different than most....I hear lots of parents say that they can't wait to send their own kids back to school. - me? - I miss mine too much. ...not sure what this year will bring - that's true for everyone though really... hoping, ( of course),a that it will be much better than the last. Guess I should go for now...Im up late - too late, and need to get up early tomorrow...... I usually have trouble sleeping and as of late I am getting tired enough and going to bed early - but then...I wake up - in the middle of the night - and then have trouble going back to sleep.... trying some hot tea - we'll see how that goes. Well, so I guess Im off for now, to sleep, perchance to dream....( that would be nice), and hopefully not worry about tomorrow and missing my kiddo so much.... nite for now... :) - Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary |

| Christmas this year... |
| 2007-12-21 |
Not quite a year, - but you are not here, for the first time, a Christmas wishing that you were still near Gone in a heartbeat - gone too soon, missed is your laughter, your smiles your cheer, I don't know that I can make it through Christmas this year. A part of our family, a dear one so missed, it's just not the same at all I wrap the gifts - can barely get the tree trimmed I want so badly to pick up the phone and call I wish you were here, it's just not the same,
I think I'll skip Christmas this year... |

| Dec. 9th -For the Children-(Light a candle tonight) |
| 2007-12-09 |
Worldwide Candle Lighting As we reach out to the newly bereaved, energy that has been directed inward begins to flow outward and both are helped to heal. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." Held annually the second Sunday in December, this year December 9, The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to honor and remember children who have died at any age from any cause. As candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time, hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate and honor children in a way that transcends all ethnic, cultural, religious, and political boundaries. The Worldwide Candle Lighting is a gift from The Compassionate Friends to the bereavement community allowing us all to join together in unity to remember and honor the memories of all children so they may never be forgotten. Believed to be the largest mass candle lighting on the globe, the Worldwide Candle Lighting creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone. Hundreds of formal candle lighting events are held and thousands of informal candle lightings are conducted in homes as families gather in quiet remembrance of special children to always be remembered. *Thank you to "LadyG" for this post* |

| for tj.............. |
| 2007-11-17 |
A precious gift in one so small you came into our lives and touched us all You showed us love and bravery, you showed us what we should strive to be. Full of love, full of life, leave behind bitterness and strife. And when you get your wings of gold, your story will again be told. To all those who will remember you, you gave a gift, though you never knew. We will carry you with us all our days, untill we see you again someday. We will miss you dearly as days go by, we will think of you often...and sometimes cry. But we will also laugh and sing, for into our lives such joy you bring! And when we meet at last again, we will rejoice again, Amen! Amen!
Thank you TJ - and thank you Shante' for sharing your precious baby boy with all of us..........

Hello all... I haven't posted here in quite a while...mainly due to having truble posting on this site. Things are pretty good in my neck of the woods. We're starting to gear up for Christmas, and I am actually almost done with my Christmas shopping! (YAY!) - Of couse this year - especially this holiday season comeing up, will be bitter-sweet. I miss my friend who passed away last January already ..and kinda dread the actual Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day too...I can still see heropening up her presents as we were all gathered together to celebrate..and her pitching in to help and get the house all ready for family to visit....we had gotten closer, and she truly had become a sister. hmmm......hope my next post is a little happier |

| Life... |
| 2007-11-02 |
As I Walk Through Life I've learned - that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back. I've learned that it takes years to build up trust and only seconds to destroy it. I've learned that it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts. I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better know something. I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do. but to the best you can do. I've learned that it's not what happens to people that's important. It's what they do about it. I've learned that you can do something in an instant that will give you heart ache for life. I've learned that no matter how thin you slice it, there are always two sides. I've Learned that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I've learned that it's a lot easier to react than it is to think. I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them. I've learned that you can keep going long after you think you can't. I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel. I've learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you. I've learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place. I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences. I've learned that learning to forgive takes practice. I've learned that there are people who love you dearly, but just don't know how to show it. I've learned that money is a lousy way of keeping score. I've learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time. I've learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up. I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel. I've learned that true friendship continues grow even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love. I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have. I've learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated. I've learned that you should never tell a child that their dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would if they believed it. I've learned that your family won't always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't biological. I've learned that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that. I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself. I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief. I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. I've learned that sometimes when my friends fight, I'm forced to choose sides even when I don't want to. I've learned that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do. I've learned that sometimes you have to put the individual ahead of their actions. I've learned that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change. I've learned that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever. I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different. I've learned that no matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get hurt and you will hurt in the process. I've learned that there are many ways of falling and staying in love. I've learned that no matter the consequences, those who are honest with themselves get farther in life. I've learned that no matter how many friends you have, if you are their pillar you will feel lonely and lost at the times you need them most. I've learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you. I've learned that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find strength to help. I've learned that writing, as well as talking, can ease emotional pains. I've learned that the paradigm we live in is not all that is offered to us. I've learned that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being. I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon. I've learned that although the word "love" can have many different meanings, it loses value when overly used. I've learned that it's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what you believe. © Kathy Kane Hansen |

| anniversary year....... |
| 2007-10-14 |
and not the good kind unfortunately...... Just needed to write today ... I found this site, (shoutpost), about a year ago. I've used it as a way to "talk" about things when I needed to vent, cry, or just "talk out loud", so to speak - My father went through heart bypass surgery, (He is doing fine thank The Lord), my hubby's Aunt passed away from lung cancer, our nieghbor lost her daughter to cervical cancer, a dear friend's father passed from cancer, I had some surgery, and in January of this year (2007), a very close friend, (like a sister), suddenly passed away too. later in this year, my hubby's Aunt's family came here to have a memorial service for his Aunt, (they stayed with us during that time), and then my nieghbor had a memorial/dedication service for her daughter, where she dedicated a bench, ( at our local beach/park), in her daughter's name, with a plaque on it. ( I posted about that here on shoutpost just recently), - also this is the month when my Aunt passed a few years ago, - also suddenly, we're not sure why, - and just today I found out that a young boy, ( just turned 16), who I found out about through friends, sending me a prayer chain request for him, passed away just yesterday. I guess all of this has me in a slump - just feeling kinda quiet and meloncoly - it's been a tough year........... ................................thanks to all the kind words from all the nice folks here at shoutpost - thanks for "listening" :) |

Terri got her wings........
Some of you might remember that I posted previously about my nieghbor's daughter passing away last year from cervical cancer.
Well today is the one year anniversary of her "going home" and getting her wings. Her mother is dedicating a new bench today, with a plaque on it, at our nieghborhood beach. It is perfect, and has he most beautiful view. Her mother - and all of us who love her, - will finally have a place where we can go when we are thinking about her. (no, there is no burial plot - a long, unpleasent story) We will be celebrating Terri's life and her unwaivering faith today Her mother finally has a sence of peace

| "Things I've Learned From My Children" |
| 2007-08-13 |
**Sorry the little pics don't show up - but this one is still pretty funny! ;)
Things I've Learned From My Children (Honest and No Kidding) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2,000 sq foot house 4 inches deep. If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
A 3-year-old's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 42 pound boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20X20 foot room.
You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on.
When using the ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way. The glass in windows (even double pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
When you hear the toilet flush and the words "Uh-oh", it's already too late.
Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
A six-year-old can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year- old man says they can only do it in the movies. A magnifying glass can start a fire even on an overcast day.
Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a four-year-old. Play Dough and Microwave should never be used in the same sentence.
Super glue is forever.
No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
VCR's do not eject PB&J sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.
Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving. You probably do not want to know what that odor is.
Always look in the oven before you turn it on. Plastic toys do not like ovens.
The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5 minute response time.
The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earth worms dizzy. It will however make cats dizzy and cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
These came from an anonymous mother in Austin, TX (poor woman!) |

This is an e-mail I recevied - Glad I didn't miss this annual event this year! - Perseids Meteor Shower Sky & Telescope > >Dark Nights for This Year's Perseids > > >Mark your calendar for Sunday night, August 12-13. >By ALAN MACROBERT > >This year the new moon of August comes on Sunday, the 12th, perfectly >timed >to bring dark, moonless nights around the peak of the Perseid meteor >shower. >Moreover, Earth should pass through the shower's richest part around 1AM >ET >on August 13th -- so North Americans and western Europeans should have the >best seats in the house. > > > > > >Stargazers could see more than one meteor per minute in s >with very dark skies. > >The Perseids are bits of space debris that were shed by Comet Swift-Tuttle >in past centuries and remain traveling more or less along the comet's >130-year >orbit around the sun. The particles range in size from sand grains to >pebbles, and they have the consistency of dry dirt. As it orbits the sun, >Earth >passes through this thin "river of rubble" every year in mid-August. Each >meteoroid rips into our upper atmosphere at 37 miles per second, creating >an >incandescent trail of shocked, ionized air. This hot trail, not the tiny >meteoroid >itself, is what you see. > >The Perseids are one of the two strongest, most dependable annual meteor >showers (the Geminids of December are the other; here's a _list_ >(http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/meteors/Meteor_Showers_in_nbsp_2007. html) >of all the best ones). The grand Perseid displays of the 1990s seem to be >well and truly over, so this year under a dark sky you might see "only" 60
>to 90 >Perseids per hour between midnight and dawn. Light pollution cuts down the >numbers, but the most spectacular streakers always shine through. > >Sky Chart for August 12 > > >These meteors can flash into view anywhere in your sky, but all of them >(if >you trace their paths back far enough) appear to diverge from a spot in >northern Perseus near Cassiopeia. This is the shower's radiant point. The >radiant >is an effect of perspective; the particles are actually traveling in >parallel >through space. Meteors you see near the radiant look slow and short >because >they're coming at you almost head-on. Those far from the radiant appear >longer and faster, because you see them broadside. > >In early evening the radiant is low in the north-northeast, so Perseids >graze into the atmosphere over your part of the world at a low angle and >you >don't see very many. As the night grows late, the radiant rises higher in >the >northeast, the meteors arrive more nearly straight down, so you see them >in >greater numbers. By the first glimmer of dawn the radiant is quite high, >about >60° up for observers at mid-northern latitudes. > >How to Watch > >Find a spot with an open sky view and no glary lights. Bundle up in >blankets >or a sleeping bag, both for warmth and mosquito shielding (and don't >forget >the repellent). Lie back, gaze into the stars, and be patient. The >direction >to watch is wherever your sky is darkest, usually straight up. That's all >there is to it. > >And don't forget that the shower lasts more than one night. Rates are >about >a quarter to half the peak for one or two nights before and after. In >fact, >the shower lasts about two weeks and stragglers have been recorded as late >as >August 24th. > >Also, not all meteors you'll see are Perseids! In addition to occasional >random, sporadic meteors, the weaker Delta Aquarid shower is also active >during >Perseid season. The Delta Aquarids are slower, often yellower and fly away >from a radiant in eastern Aquarius. > >Sky & Telescope's website offers more tips on _watching meteors_ >(http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/meteors/3304061.html) >and _what causes >them._ >(http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/meteors/3304046.html) > > > |

| ME TOO! |
| 2007-08-10 |
Hey! I gota much needed nap today too! WHEW!
- And for those of you also in need of a good nap, but are having some trouble catching those "Z's" - Here's a little ditty to help you with your slumber - courtesy of Ernie from Sesame Street! :)
"Dance Myself To Sleep" - As sung by Ernie of Sesame Street - ( - comments by Bert, as his entire bed is lifted up by "The Boogie Woogie Sheep, and carried outside! ) Sometimes I have trouble Falling asleep But it's not so bad
(Not again)
I don't worry
(Ooooooh)
And I don't weep
In fact I'm glad....
Be-cause I get up off my pillow And I flip on the li-ight
(Turn the light back off!)
I get down and get hip In the still of the night I stretch and I yawn and then I breathe real deep
(Ernie!)
And dance myself to sleep!
(Ooooh, why me?)
I hoof around my beddie Just a-tappin my toes Before I know what's happenin' I'm a-ready to doze
(Oooh...)
Got some partners I can count on called the Boogie Woogie Sheep
(What?!?)
I dance myself to sleep!
(I don't believe this!)
I gently rock-a-bye myself across the floor
(Ernie!)
I turn and then I toss and then I start to snore
(Ernie!)
My trusty little bugle helps me spread the news That I'm tappin' to "Taps" And I'm a-rarin' to snooze!
(Oh, not the bugle)
(Smokin' bugle routine by Ernie begins, interspersed with comments by Bert)
(Ernie... Those sheep are tap dancing! Oooh, why me?)
(Ernie removes the bugle from his lips ... yet the bugle routine continues! Wild!)
Spoken: Oh, that's nothing, Bert, wait 'till you see Rubber Duckie play the bugle! Watch this Rubber Duckie, he's the Boogie-Woogie Bugle Duck of Sesame Street! (Ernie holds his duckie up to the bugle, squeezes his tummy and the bugle routine really heats up!)
(bugle solo ends)
(the sheep now begin to carry Bert and his bed out of the room)
(Ernie! Ernie! Your sheep!)
Well, I'm gettin' kinda drowsy
(Your sheep! Call them off, please! Hey!)
So the moment has come To grab my rubber duckie
(Oooh, not outside! Please!)
While the sheep take my chum Time to shuffle off to dreamland
(Not outside sheep! Errrrnie!)
Got a date to keep
We'll dance ourselves to sleep, oh yeah
(Errrrnie!)
We'll dance ourselves to sleep Wearin' our jammies We'll dance ourselves to sleep And thank you, lambies We'll dance ourselves to sleep! (final bugle riff)
(Ernie's trademark laugh, as Bert looks in from window with long-suffering expression)
SWEET DREAMS!

| Down on The Farm... |
| 2007-08-09 |
Well, Imanaged to get down to the farm today - after I started out, I saw dark clouds on the horizon....sure enough I ended up in a rainstorm, and thought about Bishop's Fantasy's white knuckle adventure that she blogged about earlier, as I too ended up following along behind a large white truck, being able to see nothing else, and there being no place to pull over and wait it out!
- Got there safe and sound, and even though the farm had closed for the day, (of course), - I was able to get in and work on the mural some more before the big 52nd Birthday event to honour The E. F., this weekend. (YAY!) - I don't have a digital camera, so the pics will have to come after this weekend (hopefully!).
I was able to finish the painting of The Merry Miller's house, and add The Wishing Well, (one of the newest recovered peices), and to add a little "landscaping", including the pond and stream that are connected with The Merry Miller's House. I feel like I got something done today, but I still have alot more to do - another stone to finish painting a Castle on, and some hands and feet for The Dish and The Spoon, to cut out of syrophome, that will later be fiberglassed, and attached to the figures as they are being restored. :) |

| tiny frogs - Wise words |
| 2007-08-08 |
There once was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants...
The race began...
No one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.
You heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top."
"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!" The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one...
Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher...
The crowd continued to yell,
"It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up...
But ONE continued higher and higher and higher...
This one wouldn't give up!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal?
It turned out...
That the winner was DEAF!!!!
The wisdom of this story is:
Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart!
Always think of the power words have. Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!
Therefore: ALWAYS be...
POSITIVE!
And above all: Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!
Always think:
God and I can do this!

| 2007-08-07 |
Didn't get to the farm like had planned to today, to get things worked on for this weekend's event - but I did get some painting done here today - did alot of small detail - my eyes are starting to cross! - no pics of anything yet - have to work on that! - Well it will be more painting tomorrow and back up to the farm later in the week - drop things off that I've finished, and work on things like the mural - kinda hard to work on that here! ;) - hubby got The Spoon handle made and fitted onto the bowl part of The Spoon - ( from Dish and Spoon nursery ryhme) - Have to take that back tothe farm and prime it and paint it and have the face painted on to it - then it gets attached to the board along with The Dish. Lots to do before the big weekend! :) |

| Lost day.... |
| 2007-08-03 |
Well the last few days did me in - going through the emotions of the memorial service and a HUGE lack of sleep (up til 4am everynight) - it finally all cought up with me - I had a migraine the entire day and night yesterday. UGH! I hate them and wouldn't wish them on anyone, but at least it wasn't quite as bad as they can, and have, gotten before. - But I lost an entire day. Hate it when that happens too. I have alot of work ahead of me, with getting ready for The E. F. Birthday event, Aug. 11th and 12th - lots of painting painting and more painting to do - and I need to get back over to the farm before that weekend, and get some more painting done on the mural too -*sigh* - of course it ususally gets like this every year - pretty hectic, but hey, it's all for a good cause! (Just hope I can get everything done that I want to get done before the deadline! (yipes!- fingers crossed!) Sorry I missed everyone's posts - now I'llhave to play catch-up - - - inbetween painting of course! ;)
Oh, and my lovely lap-top won't let me post an avatar - (lucky for you guys I guess!) LOL! :) |

| ...This I know.... |
| 2007-08-01 |
I went to my friend's father's memorial service this morning...Jesus Loves me....was sung at the graveside. They are a Christian family, and everyone in the family knows how to play an instrument. Their home was alsways filled with music. It was a song that the family sang together with him at his bedside before he passed away. I've always loved this song and taken great comfort in it - but I don't remember ther being other verses to it. Here is the song in it's entirety:
Jesus Loves Me Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so; Little ones to Him belong, They are weak but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me! He who died, Heaven's gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me! loves me still, When I'm very weak and ill; From His shining throne on high, Comes to watch me where I lie. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
Jesus loves me! He will stay, Close beside me all the way; He's prepared a home for me, And some day His face I'll see. Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. My friend and her family are all doing well, and we will be keeping in closer touch.
I also want to say thank you to those of you who posted comments on my last blog post about this, and shared such kind words. It means more than you know. :) |

| Age and reality ... |
| 2007-07-31 |
Well - it's now passed the grandparents generation and has gone to the parent's generation - A class mate of mine's father passed away this past friday from a long fight with cancer. - although I know it happens to all of us, and I am quite familiar with reality, thank you, it seems so strange to me that this is happening...doesn't seem quite real - or that it shouldn't be real - not yet anyway. I'll be going to the viewing tonight, or what is now called "visitation" ,(that seems like an dd word to use to me, but I guess you are visiting with the family, in reality),...kinda putting off getting ready, this will be hard to do, but even harder for my friend. So I'll go and I'll be there - for her and her family. The good news, and the other part of the reality in this - we know where he is, and that he is no longer in any pain - you hear people say this all the time, but in this case we know it is true. Thank you Mr. E for welcoming me and my family into your home, and sharing your family with me, and your testimony through the example of your life. :| |

This is one of my all time faves! - Brickhouse Ow she's a Brick-house, She's mighty mighty, Just lettin' it all hang out She's a brick-house, That lady's stacked, And that's a fact, Ain't holdin' nothin' back, Ow she's a brick-house, Well we're together everybody knows, This is how the story goes... She knows she's got everything, That a woman needs, to get a man How can she lose, with such a youth, Thirty six, twenty four, thirty six, What a winning hand! She's a Brick-house, She's mighty mighty, Just lettin' it all hang out. Yea she's a brick-house, That lady's stacked, And that's a fact, Ain't holdin' nothin back, Oh she's a brick-house, Yeah she's the one, the only one, Built like an Amazon The clothes she wears, her sexy ways, Makes her, ole man wish, For younger days yeah yeah She knows she's built, And knows how to please. Sho' nuff can knock a strong man to his knees. Cause she's a brick-house, She's mighty mighty, Just lettin' it all hang out. Oh she's a brick-house, That lady's stacked, And that's a fact, Ain't holdin' nothin' back, yeah Shake it down shake it down Shake it down shake it down now Shake it down, shake it down now, Shake it down shake it ooo ga ga Shake it down, shake it down Shake it down shake it down now Shake it down, shake it down now, Shake it down shake it shake it Brick-House - Yeah, she's mighty mighty, Just letting it all hang out Ah what a brick-house, Yeah she's the one, the only one, Built like an Amazon. | At Last - (song for Doe's daughter's wedding) |
| 2007-07-31 |
Ok I found it...it was originally done by Etta james and here are the lyrics of her version (These are just the lyrics):
At last, my love has come along My lonely days are over And life is like a song Oh, yeah, at last The skies above are blue My heart was wrapped up in clovers The night I looked at you I found a dream that I could speak to A dream that I can call my own I found a thrill to rest my cheek to A thrill that I have never known Oh, yeah when you smile, you smile Oh, and then the spell was cast And here we are in heaven For you are mine At last
Christina Aguilera also did a re-make of this song...this shows how the song is put together a little better:
(etta james)
At last My love has come along My lonely days over And life is like a song
At last The skies above are blue Well my heart was wrapped up in clover The night I looked at you I found a dream That I could speak to A dream that I could call my own I found a thrill to press my cheek to A thrill that I have never known well
You smile You smile Oh and then the spell was cast And here we are in heaven
For you are mine at last I found a dreamthat I could speak to A dream that icould call my own I found a thrillto press my cheek to A thrill that I have never known Well
You smile You smile Oh and then the spell was cast And here we are in heaven For you are mine at last Ooo yea You are mine You are mine At last At last At last At last
Hope that helps....Oh a great site with lyrics is metrolyrics.com

| Suddenly I See! |
| 2007-07-27 |
Ok, listening to the radio has it's advantages and it's disadvantages...the advantages being that I'm really enjoying hearing some great music today, and the disadvantages...well....you guys get to read it in my post......yeah I know ..there she goes again! Seeesh! LOL!
But hey - It's got a great beat, and you can dance to it! :D This one's a great song too! - "Suddenly I See"
Her face is a map of the world Is a map of the world You can see she's a beautiful girl She's a beautiful girl And everything around her is a silver pool of light The people who surround her feel the benefit of it It makes you calm She holds you captivated in her palm
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) This is what I wanna be Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) Why the hell it means so much to me
I feel like walking the world Like walking the world You can hear she's a beautiful girl She's a beautiful girl She fills up every corner like she's born in black and white Makes you feel warmer when you're trying to remember What you heard She likes to leave you hanging on her word
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) This is what I wanna be Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) Why the hell it means so much to me
And she's taller than most And she's looking at me I can see her eyes looking from a page in a magazine Oh she makes me feel like I could be a tower A big strong tower She got the power to be The power to give The power to see
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) This is what I wanna be Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see) Why the hell it means so much to me

| Pretty in Pink - If You Leave ... |
| 2007-07-27 |
I just heard this on the radio...from the movie, Pretty in Pink. yeah, I'm old, but I LOVE this song! - so straight from the "way-back machine", here it is : If You Leave
If you leave, don't leave now Please don't take my heart away Promise me just one more night Then we'll go our separate ways
We've always had time on our sides Now it's fading fast Every second every moment We've got to--we've gotta make it last
I touch you once I touch you twice I won't let go at any price I need you now like I needed you then You always said we'd still be friends, someday
If you leave I won't cry I won't waste one single day But if you leave don't look back I'll be running the other way
Seven years went under the bridge Like time standing still Heaven knows what happens now You've got to--you've gotta say you will
I touch you once I touch you twice I won't let go at any price I need you now like I needed you then You always said we'd meet again
I touch you once I touch you twice I won't let go at any price I need you now like I needed you then You always said we'd still be friends
I touch you once I touch you twice I won't let go at any price I need you now like I needed you then You always said we'd meet again someday
If you leave Oh if you leave Oh if you leave Don't look back Don't look back

| MySpace bars 29,000 sex offenders |
| 2007-07-25 |
It's about damn time! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6914870.stm
"The social networking website MySpace has reported a four-fold increase in the number of convicted sex offenders using its service. The company found more than 29,000 convicted sex offenders in the United States had profiles on MySpace - up from a figure of 7,000 given in May.
MySpace said it was pleased it had identified and removed the profiles of the offenders.
Critics of MySpace call for new laws to make such sites safer for children.
MySpace is a personal website tool allowing people to post blogs, music, and videos.
More than 80 million people have registered a MySpace page. News Corp bought the site for $580m last year.
'Screams for action'
The new figures were first released by officials in two states - North Carolina and Connecticut - which have been pressing MySpace to reveal data about sex offenders found to be using the site.
"The exploding epidemic of sex offender profiles on MySpace - 29,000 and counting - screams for action," said Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.
In North Carolina, Attorney General Roy Cooper wants a state law that would require children to obtain parental permission before creating profiles on sites such as MySpace, and require the site to check parents' identity.
He said such a law would mean "fewer children at risk, because there will be fewer children on those web sites".
Under current rules, users must be over the age of 14 to register with MySpace.
In a statement, MySpace said: "We're pleased that we've successfully identified and removed registered sex offenders from our site and hope that other social networking sites follow our lead."
There are about 600,000 registered sex offenders in the United States. " |

| Temporarily??? |
| 2007-07-23 |
Well.....my lap-top is back up and running again - (yay...don't want to say that too loud for fear of jinxing it) Of course it was something stupid, like I figured it would be, but again, one never knows when the history of one's luck with these "contraptions of the future", has not been favorable! - So, I'm crossing my fingers, but I don't think I'll hold my breath...(given the past history, I'll be turning blue before the day's out!) So Hi again! - and hopfully this thing will work...at least until my old PC is back up and running, and then it's this one's turn to bite the dust again, I mean fair is fair, right?....(arg!) Oh, and here's something...my brand spankin' new lap-top is 10X slower than my old clunky computer...and they are both on dial up! ...Isn't the new stuff supposed to work at least as well as the old out-of date- stuff??????????????
